I’m 44. I am a computer geek. I started CrossFit at Brand X in August 2004. I had just lost 30# (170, down to 140) and had begun gaining it back. I weighed about 155 when I started . I needed to do some physical exertion. I had been doing kickboxing at my work gym, and my instructors were students at Brand X (Lucky Dawg was one of them) and they talked me in to CrossFit to help me get fitter. It worked. I currently weigh 155 but I am much trimmer, and in crazier shape than ever. I can deadlift 200+, Back Squat 190, and power cleaned 125 once. My benchmark times could be better, but they are much better than they were. LOL. I have a lot more in me than I’ve gotten to yet, and this is mostly due to poor nutrition discipline and lack of meaningful recovery. My workout habits have ranged from dedicated to intermittent. I will say they have never been half hearted and thanks to Jeff and Mikki and their team of excellent trainers, I know it is all up to me how well I do at this thing. You get out what you put in, but their experience and encouragment has made all the difference.
