while i was being a sweaty mess and resting between burpee subsets someone came up to me and said “are you training for cage fighting? hahahaha” I kind of mumbled and grunted a “no” then he said “ahhh, to be your age again!”

If I was able to think clearly and actually talk, I would have told him that I am 37! the guy may have been 3-5 years older than me. Clearly crossfit makes me seem younger.

Dirty 50 Pack:
Warm up 10 minutes elliptical and 100 single unders
lots of pacing and assembling equipment and hiding other things so people wouldn’t walk off with them.

wod:
35 Box jump, ~24 inch box
35 Jumping pull-ups
35 Kettlebell swings, 35#
Walking Lunge, 35 steps
35 knees to elbows, degraded quickly to knee ups
35 Push press, 45 pounds
35 Back extensions
35 Wall ball shots, 15 pound ball
35 Burpees (subsets of 5)
35 Standard Jump Rope Jumps
time: 29:58 the burpees killed my time!

knees to elbows should have been ab mat sit ups, but I self transcribed this workout and left the knees to elbows in.

Complete as many rounds in 20 minutes as you can of:

Catching my breath to keep a rigid torso on the deadlift is always a challenge for me with deadlift WODs. Anyone have any breathing tips to help keep from stepping away from the bar so often? By round three I could only do 2 or 3 reps before stepping away.

I think the general idea is that the breathing will regulate it self while you are working. so just grab the bar and pull again.  But I am sure wiser people than I will have opinions as the day goes on.

I got similar comments from 29-30 years old who think that I am their age

Complete as many rounds in 20 minutes as you can of:
155 pound Deadlift, 5 reps
13 Push-ups
9 Box jumps, 16 inch box

6rds+DLs+pushups

This was WAY tougher than I thought it was going to be.  My biggest problem right now is endurance.  Everything but the push ups on the last round were unbroken but I was so gassed by the third round I was taking way too long of rests.  I’ve only been at this a week and a half but would you guys suggest doing some extra cardio or will it just come with time?

Filthy 50

400m easy run
DROMS
Kipping Practice

35 Box jump, 20 inch box
35 Jumping pull-ups
35 DBswings, 1 pood
Walking Lunge, 35 steps
35 K2E
35 Push press, 45 pounds
35 Good Mornings
35 Wall ball shots, 20 pound ball
35 Burpees
35 DUs
25:47, although slower than my last times…I added in K2E, DUs and Good Mornings which are tougher than the pack mods.  They ate up a lot of time.  I just could not get the last 4 DUs.  Eventually did them as singles jumping as high as possible.

I worked pretty hard here.  Feel really lousy now.

End
Walk up the street and back…might go for a ride.

“McGhee”

Pack(with mods):
Complete as many rounds in 20 minutes as you can of:
205 pound Deadlift, 5 reps
13 Push-ups
9 Box jumps, 15 inch box
8 rounds + DL’s
This got real tough real fast.
Best round: 1@ 1:10, slowest round: 5 @ 3:20
DL’s all unbroken, but by the 2nd round, the push-ups were all over the place.  Ended with 5-4-4.  Box jump a bit short, it was the highest I could safely configure in the Globo.

Always torn when doing Hero WOD’s: I like the workout, but wish there were a lot fewer of them.
RIP McGhee.
Sincerest sympathies to your family.
