Looking at putting in a strip of concrete in my backyard.  Mainly for aesthetics reasons but I figure if I can get the added benefit of having a good spot to work a prowler then why not?

I’m wondering what is the minimum length needed for one of these badboys?  I can do 90ft or 70ft.  A 70ft strip would leave a spot for the hound to do his business and keep it off the lawn.  So what say you?  70 ft good enough or should I go with 90?

Also it’ll be about 7-8 feet wide, with one side being a fence.  It also has a gradual uphill slope to it.  See any issues with any of this or do you think that’ll work for prowler and sled shenanigans?

my gym is about 110 feet for the sled…..do what’s right for the family and resale of the house.  you can always add more weight if you think it’s too short.

AB we usually never push the Prowler more then 75 to 80 ft. anymore then that and you loose the intensity.

Cool.  Thanks guys.  Got a bid today for $4300.  Ouch.  On second thought it might be best for the family to spend that on an AR-15, a couple schools and a few cases of ammo.

Then you could probably get the job done for free!

AB, I probably can build you a prowler for a lot less! and you would still have enough for an AR-15.

AB, you can push a prowler on the grass, too. It will tear up the grass after a while, but not too bad. I do this when I do a quick triplet or couplet with the prowler.

For a legit prowler session after a heavy squat or deadlift day, I will throw mine in the back of the truck (I think the Econo Prowler will fit in a trunk without unbolting it, but the lid might not close) and drive down to a dead end street that doesn’t see much traffic and just push on the asphalt.

Sometimes it’s 40 yard sprint repeats x 8 (think 100 to 200m sprint repeats)
Sometimes it’s 1/4-1/2 mile marathon style pushes (think 2 to 5k fast run, but with more agony)
Sometimes I will do a couplet or triplet out there with pushes, kettle bell swings and pushups. (think “push helen”)
Sometimes I will take some friends or family out, and pile on plates and folks and see how close to pushing 500lb. we can get.

The few folks that have stepped up the plate, and gone out there with me have absolutely loved the conditioning work (not immediately after mind you - this time was spent cussing and spitting, and fighting off leg cramps).
