Since getting back from Brand X and the CrossFit certification in September I have been looking at starting personal training. I wasn’t sure at how to start anyone off on CrossFit before but Jeff helped me out with a plan of attack to introduce intensity and the core moves over the space of 5-7 sessions.

I am starting off coaching 3 people for free just to give me practice, one is a girl I work with the other 2 are members of the gym I work in.

I had my first session with the two new people last night and it went great.
I dont think I overloaded them with information, which I used to do all the
time.

I had both of them do the 5 rounds of squat x 10 reps and 400m run wod you gave me and they
both done really well. One is a runner and he had a great time on his runs.
the other guy was not a runner and he went a hell of a lot slower but it was
great to see the difference in both thier fitness levels. Both of them are training with me agin on Friday night

The girl that I am training injured her ankle at the weekend so she has been
taking it easy this week, but will be training her again next week.  She has had 3 sessions with me, and these included how to squat, do a pull up and how to shoulder press and push press. The
great thing about her is that i think she “gets it”. She is really upset
that she cant train this week and is telling lots of people in the gym the she is doing CrossFit.

So thats the three people that I am going to train for free up till january,
then i will start to offer it as a paying service. I stll need to get some
insurance but i have got the all clear from my boss to use the facilities.

I also stated my wife, Jackie, on CrossFit as well. Unfortunately she has been to the Doctors with a strain in her lower back but last night we worked on squats, push press and shoulder press, thrusters and tried sumo deadlift high pulls but this aggravated her back.

We are going to do an actual workout this morning.

Davie!

As the famous man says….....“That is LEGIT!”

Nice one matey, good to see you spreading the madness, believe me it is infectious…....work on trying to get a “Circuit” class going too and it will “infect” even more people. That is precisely what i did in this corporate piece of erm…....stuff that i work in. People keep asking about training “In that style”......and then my friend the work is easy!!!

Nothing better than strolling onto shift to see people doing thrusters, swings, proper squats and deadlifts to name but a few! It’s a warm fuzzy feeling i tell ya…...........oh wait i’m leaning on the radiator again, scratch that last comment….. raspberry

Davie!!!!!!!
That’s great.  Good job man.  Nothing will help the back better too than learning to squat correctly.  Remember not to push the newbies to hard.  Let them slowly learn to love the pain.  LOL

Great work guys.  We can always use new members to our experiment.

Great Job Davie.  Having gotten to know you and Karl a tiny bit the week you were here with Jeff and I, My guess is that you did not overload her with information- probably just said what you needed to.
Good luck and keep letting us know the progress !

Training is going really well with all the guys.

I couldnt get jackie trained yesterday because I had a 12 hour shift but doing it this morning

Sheryl is almost ready to start full on CrossFit. Did a modified Chelsea last night of 10mins on the min of 5 assisted pull ups, 5 push ups frm her knees and 10 squats.

Brian did his 3rd session with me on Monday and did 3 x 800m runs and 15 push press.

Kevin is in tonight and is doing the same workout

Got another girl at the other gym I work at doing a CrossFit circuit class and her squat is AMAZING. Im going to try and get a photograph of it on Thursday and will post it so you can see. I also had another girl ask if she could join in on the circuit class.

Also got some people in the gym changing their cardio for OUR cardio…run 400m, row 500m x 3, or run, press ups, row, squats!!
