If they show up here for the first time and have to wade through 5-10 posts before we have a chance to scale for them, it can make it more difficult.

No WOD today, but I spent 4-5 hours this morning moving furniture, then this afternoon I biked something like 10k of hills…

Is it ok to use wraps for these lifts? My grip strength is not strong enough to keep up with my deadlift.

7.5km PR
Did 7.42km last week

Thursday:
Buy in:
Gymnastics - 10 mins working on Planche Progressions

Strength/Speed:
Dynamic Effort Front Squat 10x2
60 sec rest between sets
Load = 60% 1RM (123lbs)

Metcon:
5 rounds for time of:

Hold breath 0:30-1:00
15 Push up
15 Air Squats
15 Sit ups
15 Double Unders
Total time = 8:46 mins
Minus 2:30 mins breath holds = 6:16 mins

Held breath for 30s each round, couldn’t go any longer
Rd 1- 30s, Rd 2- 15/15s, Rds 3-5 10s x3

Didn’t feel that the metcon part was hard at all, just the breath hold that i couldn’t really do well.

Personally, i would recommend chalk and/or an over/under grip on the bar (one hand supinated) as opposed to using straps.

I tried that but my grip fails. The last heavy deadlifting I did I actually had the weight fall out of my hands and crash to the floor. Made a few people jump. Perhaps I will have to just keep the weight down to what my grip can handle until it gets stronger.

Do that, and you might consider doing some grip work a couple times a week.

I am not sure what my PR is. The last set I stopped at 24. Should I start at 24 or higher?

Thanks :D

I love these WOD but they irk me at my gym because no bumpers are available.  I haven’t 1 rep maxed on deadlift yet so I plan to start low and build.  How much time should I rest between attempts?  I hate 1 rep max without bumpers because of the control lowering.  I have been kicking around the idea of picking up some bumpers to start my home gym but not sure what is the best way to start?  Which to buy?  Any ideas would be appreciated.  Thansk
