The mainpage of CrossFit directs new people here for help getting started CF can be confusing enough for a newbie, we want to make it as easy as possible for them.  We ask you to be courteous and thoughtful of the newbies. If they show up here for the first time and have to wade through 5-10 posts before we have a chance to scale for them, it can make it more difficult.

Answers to frequently asked questions can be found in the Beginners forum.

So about 3000 people come here each day to get the free scaling we do every night.  24/7, 365 days a year.  We rarely ask anything of our members or the people who come here.  Right now we are asking you to vote so that CF Kids can get a grant to teach CrossFit to kids from 1st through 6th grade.  It takes just a few seconds to text a vote.  We could have 3000 votes a day, if you all took a few seconds to text a vote in.  The highest vote right now after two days of voting is around 1000, we have 98.  I’ll post a few reminders please help..

‎CrossFit Kids has been accepted by Clorox as nominee for a 50,000 grant through Powerabrightfuture.com to have CFK implemented at a local school- here in Ramona the home of CFK HQ !
We have three weeks to vote EVERY DAY - PLEASE!
Voting has begun.3-2-1 VOTE ! Our code is clorox3829. I found the easiest way to vote is to use the “keyword search” option, search by “Crossfit” and the nomination pops right up! To text a vote….send the text to 44144 and list our code clorox3829 in the message.

If everyone that used the scaling on the website voted for two days we would pass the leaders.  Thank you to those that have been voting.

Should you be unable to double under you can try subbing tuck jumps or side to side hops over a small hurdle

There is no requirement to do a buy-in and cash-out.
Those are Brand X add-ons which you’re welcome to use, but are not required to.

For a start I’d recommend that you don’t and just warm-up, do the WOD and cool down.

I live in South Africa and have been trying to vote. The site keeps making me register and nothing happens from there. I am restricted to using my smartphone as I am blocked from Facebook and Crossfit. What would be the easiest way for me to vote?

I live in Ireland and had similar problems to you at the start. Once I used a US telephone number in the registration process every thing went swimmingly well. I registered three email addresses and can cast three votes per day. Hope this helps.

111103

been practicing DUs recently and have not yet got consecutives so scaled to 1 every 4 jumps of the speed rope and ended up getting into 1 every 3! PROGRESS - the DUs felt easy and light too.

new to snatch so nixed the whole 1rm idea and upped the rep range on the round to 10 with an unloaded oly bar. This really helped “grease the groove” and my landing really started to pop. Very pleased.

I did 5 rounds and worked for 14:43. This was all new stuff to me but the pace was enough to get me pretty gassed and VERY sweaty. Loved the challenge of keeping my head on the form of both these moves while getting more and more tired and breathy.

Also, this WOD showed me that there are really no rules to scaling once you have got a feel for what the WOD is aiming at and also what your present skill levels are. Happy.

oh - and just voted too.

You can register with made up details (fake phone no.), as long as you have an e-mail address.

I have now registered 4 different e-mail addresses and lodged 4 votes (per day).

Voted.

With the number of people posting that they are voting multiple times a day, I get the impression that really very few people who visit this forum daily are taking the trouble to vote. Why do I vote? I don’t live near Ramona, have never even been to the USA. It’s not my kids that will be benefiting directly if Brand X gets the grant to implement Crossfit Kids at the local Ramona school. So why would I care?

Because, honestly, Crossfit changed my life. And that would not have happened without all the effort put into this forum by GardDawg and BlueBugOfJustice. Every single day these people whom I’ve never met and possibly never will have made sure that I and all of you get a workout scaling that allows me and all of you to be better at life. Without ever asking for something in return. Taking one minute a day to vote and allow them to expand on their work is really just a very small effort to express my gratitude.

It’s not realistic to expect every one of us to vote daily or even sporadically for this. Aside from technical issues preventing people to cast their vote, there will always be people whose opinions and beliefs will give them a reason not to. I understand and respect that. And there will always be freeloaders who benefit of the daily scaling, the beginners forum, the ‘check my technique’ videos, the discussions about nutrition and so on, without wanting to do anything in return for it. I also understand that. Still I for one believe that there only need to be enough of us voting for this to make a difference. You who are reading this, which one are you?

Cheers tulatel.
