Hello, does anybody know roughly how many wod’s there are?
I’m interested in writing a quick computer program so that I can practise my programming skills, and to increase the number of applications in my portfolio. Crossfit is something that has interested me, so I thought I might try writing an application that could keep your wod’s in an easy to access place.

3 on one off all year = .75 * 365

Roughly 273 wods a year

Mainsite has records going back to 2/10/01

So 273*11 = 3011

Figure a bunch are repeats, maybe 30% or more….

About 2000…...

Mathletes, please check my work….

Infinite.

There is a list of named WODs (http://www.crossfit.com/cf-info/faq.html#WOD0), the benchmarks, named for women and the Hero WODs (http://www.crossfit.com/cf-info/faq.html#WOD1), named for CrossFitters who fell in the service of others. I’m not sure that those lists are maintained BTW. There has been a depressing number of new Hero WODs appearing in the last year or so that may not be on the list. Just checked and yes they are, or at least all that I can recall are there. Very sad to see so many.

Then there is an ever growing list of unnamed WODs. Some, perhaps all, repeat on occasion, but new ones appear all the time.

There are several web-based apps/services that track your WODs for you already BTW.
Search the forum and you can probably dig out links to most of them.

It’s fun to look at the older WODs to see the evolution of crossfit.  Play with archive.  Also the wayback machine has archives of the mainsite.  Very different today.
