Saturday night we came home an found that Keegan’s dog Maddie had died. She was a wonderful friend and member of the family. Maddie was a birthday present for Keegan seven years ago and they were fast friends. She watched him each morning as he left for school until she couldn’t see him any longer and always waited for him by the gate, to come home in the afternoon. When he was home she was never far from him whether he was practicing soccer, doing homework or playing Sony. Often the last thing we would hear from the boys room at night was Maddie “talking” to Keegan. She was the benevolent matriarch to Gus and Jack, and the loyal protector of our home. She was everything that’s good about a dog.
Everything you hope a dog to be. Absolutely the sweetest animal I have ever had the good fortune to know. A loyal companion, playful and protective. Keegan did a good job training and raising her. She is sorely missed by all of us.

Practice handstands by walking feet up front door to 45 degree angle. Hold until arms rubbery. I did do a couple of teeeeeny tiiiiiny pushup movements on the first hold.
Maddie, Sophie and Lucky are playing together at Rainbow bridge. She was an awesome dog and will be missed by all. The hope that remains in all this is that Maddie lives on in Jack and all her other pups. Love ya Keegan.
I’m very sorry Keegan. Maddie was one of the best. We all loved her, and I know she was well l oved by you. She will be missed. Deb is right, you’ve still got a great peice of her in her boy, Jack. Love ya.
GD,
Awfully sorry to hear about your families loss. So much can be said about the ties that bind between a family and their loyal, loving family friend.
Not even enough space here to cover it.
Again I am sorry for your loss. :(
( it is always sad to lose an animal friend but it is better we out live them than they out live us. dogs especially go into a deep depression and in most cases have to be destroyed. one of the greatest sins to dogs is to get a puppy for a senior citizen and raise them for 5 years and pass on. as tragic and heart broken as we may feel at our loss, we adjust rationalize, and never forget of course but we move on. the dog doesnt at least not very well and i dont think they ever really recoup their loss. its like they become neurotic and never trust again. just my own thoughts nothing to blog about haha.
