Have not done the WOD yet for today….but as a Firefighter, avid Crossfitter, and long time rock climber I was pleasently supprised when I received the current edition of Rock and Ice and found Rob Miller “ON THE COVER”. For those who don’t know there are two premier rock climbing magazines and to be on the cover of either one is HUGE!!! Rob, way to go!!! Awesome job at taking your fitness to a level that is off the charts and gives us weekend climbers something to strive for. KUDOS!!!!
Rob is also a trainer at CFHQ in Santa Cruz. Truckload of talent aside, he is a genuinely kind soul and a fantastic coach.
Lucky Us ! Rob has agreed to build a climbing wall at Brand X !! Yipee!
A lot of people have mentioned they may come but are not yet signed up.
There is a space limit on this seminar- If you are planning on attending please let Kim or Mikki know right away to get your name on the list before space runs out- Last day to pay is Saturday, before the seminar.
You can also send me a private message and I will put you on the list
Well, I guess I’m the first to post some much deserved praise for Rob Miller and his whole operation, from designing the wall to putting it together with Steve and Wayne, to giving an amazing seminar on basic bouldering. I think most, if not all, people that were at the seminar would agree with me that the whole day was priceless.
Rob, bless your hard work and your patience with everyone. I look forward to seeing you in December at the next Cert in SD.
Well I’ll be next to thank Rob so much for a wonderful seminar and fun time. I had such a good time and can’t believe how fortunate I am to belong to a gym where I meet so many awesome people. Thank you to Steve for using his vacation time to help build the boulder and Wayne for helping out when he was needed. You are all greatly appreciated and I can’t wait to rest my hands and go again!
Really incredible. Mike, you said it. from the birth of the wall to the design of the rocks to the format of the class, Rob did an amazing job. Most of all what an incredibly kind and patient teacher.
I debated coming due to my doubt about being able to do something so demanding and let’s face it, HIGH! But I am so glad I went and I will be using that wall, oh yes, I will.
Thanks again Jeff and Mikki for bringing so much into Brand X that I never would have imagined myself doing. You have made us all better people as well as helping us become healthier, fitter, and stronger.
Adding - thanks definitely go to Steve (and Kim and the kids) and Wayne for making the wall come to life. And to the trainers who helped with the seminar.
I wanted to add that it was beautiful that the wall will be dedicated to Scott and it was bittersweet to have that introduction to the seminar.
Thank you Rob for reminding us that while Scott will not be with us in the way that we want him to be with us, he will be with us through everything he gave of himself.
Thanks to Rob, Steve and Wayne for the construction of THE WALL!! It is true that Brand X is a unique place.
Rob what a great Seminar on climbing. I learned so much more then just climbing. The technique involving center of gravity, balance, patience and keeping your weight close to the wall. This is stuff you just can’t get without a outstanding experienced climber. Rob you are one Hell of a climber, and also a great person. Me and my wife enjoyed ever moment. Thank you.
Jeff and Mikki a shout out goes to you guys too. Thanks for an outstanding gym, that offers so much more then fitness. Now it has a WALL.
Thanks to all that attended the Seminar, you all made for a great day!
Jeff and I dared to imagine a climbing wall, of pitiful proportion when we first saw this space.
Instead, we have a wall built and designed, then introduced by a world class human being and free climber, Rob.
We are lucky people. Thanks to Scott for never ending inspiration.
Thanks to Brand X members for being so worthy of efforts like this one.
A fantastic seminar…Thank you Rob.
there must be another…. down the road.
Great seminar, I learned so much. More importantly it was fun. Balance, agility, coordination another great tool in our arsenal. Rob it has been a pleasure having you as a member of the family for the past week!
all the kind words really mean a lot. i appreciate it. seeing all those light bulbs going off today was spectacular to watch. that you found some value in an activity that i’ve immersed myself in for 14+ years is pretty exciting. even more exciting will be to see that gap close in our performance levels as the months and years progress. i promise it won’t take long! climb, HAVE FUN and as with everything… do them to the best of your ability… that is the surest, steadiest path to continued improvement.
so Jeff, you ask for postings, you’ll get postings….you may regret the request soon. I am now on the forum. The swede has been trying to get me to drink the forum Kool-aid. I had a wonderful time today. Rob was so gracious. it felt more like a family get-together than a six-hour seminar. and that’s a good thing! my fingertips are still tingling like crazy…is that a good thing? :?
Rob, thank you so much for such an incredible seminar!! You are a very talented incividual. But even more important to the people that attended the seminar is the way in which you teach and inspire!! Your calm yet positive demeanour had everyone climbing with a confidence that might not have otherwise been present. I know that this is true for me THANK YOU!
Thank you also for the tabada workout after the seminar. Did not feel like I had a lot left in me, but did not want to let an opportunity slip by to gain more knowledge and insight from you.
