I guess that’s where I made my mistake, using the main page WOD’s to represent Crossfit as a whole.  Crossfit as methodology vs. Crossfit as ideology are two different animals.

Besides if you weigh 300 lbs I don’t have to kick your ass proportionally I just have run 7 minute miles . . . and wave at you.  grin

hilarious!!

albeit my old roomie did run a 24min 5k with his first mile @ 5:58 weighing 330lbs as a pack a day smoker.. he started hard and finished strong, ahead of me…..must’ve been momentum in the lean or something….  i gained an immense amount of respect for him that day.  believe it or not, this is a true story.

Awesome.  Yeah, that’s my fear . . . that a big guy has short speed faster than mine . . . . Hahahahaha.  You know, when my mouth writes checks my a** can’t cash . . . which is when I’m talking, generally.

i am wondering, i have virtually no muscle definition,[although i’ve been training real hard],unless i contract my muscles, flex my bis and tris and so on. but i can do dumbbell rows with 30lbs for about 12 times each arm, also i’ve gone from 65 lbs to 80 lbs for deads in about 4 weeks. also, 12 reps. also, i bench press around 50lbs, and shoulder press 17.5 lbs each arm. i train as heavy as i possible can bear, always pushing myself, but i have a hard time getting definition. and i love training my lower body, jump squats! power squats, suicide jumps! deadlift fiend i am! but umm, i never do leg presses or leg curls or extensions…and also, after a serious leg workout i can barely jump rope, is this because my legs are so weak? is there any way to train them harder, i feel uneasy about my lower back, if   i go waay heavier than what i am doing now…i’d love to do some intervals and then right after squats,or deads, or something…but my circuits are already really intense, i barely rest between reps… 30 sec max.thanks for advice…

You do realise this is a CrossFit message board?

How about you start doing some appropriately scaled CrossFit workouts from the mainsite and posting your results in the CrossFit WOD forum (http://www.crossfitbrandx.com/index.php/forums/viewforum/16/).
Then we’ll have something to talk about.

You’re barking up the wrong tree there!

This forum is a common and frequent starting point for CFers who are as far from beefcakes as it as possible to get. We have had elderly people, sedentary office workers, a grandmother who had never exercised in her life and many people who just want to not be unfit.
But they do at some point start actually doing the workouts.

You keep asking questions about things related to non-CF workouts and telling us what you’re currently doing, but you show no signs of wanting to actually do CF.

So I’m calling you on it.

Do want the results that CrossFit offers, or do you want to tell us about your non-CF workouts?
The first is welcome here and we do a lot to help people with it. But you need to start doing the workouts.
The second is not and you’re wasting your time here if that’s the case. We like CrossFit. Many of us have tried several other types of training and have come to CF as the best tool for what we’re after. We’ll explain why we like it, to some degree, but if people argue with us that CF isn’t effective when we can see that it is then we’ll give up at some point.

So you need to figure out what you’re here for and make a call on whether this is the right place for you.

Why are you here?

We have FAQs, a huge backlog of historical information available through the search engine and we answer many CF related questions every single day every day of the year. All for free. We have no problem with sharing information that relates to CrossFit.

You’re not being shooed away, you’re being asked to demonstrate that you’re interested in the subject that this message board exists to support.

And you’re saying I’m talking about how awesome and fit I am? Melaughloud
I openly admit that I’m a middle-aged guy in a sedentary job with a whole string of exercise and OOS related injuries who exercises simply not to be unfit. I am the least awesomely fit person on this forum, especially right now.

This thread was started to popularise the shwartz-malone formulae to the board members. You’ve effectively tried to thread-jack it, which is OK, it happens, but I’d suggest that you try and stay true to the intent of the topic in future.

You seem unfamiliar with Message Board etiquette and I’d suggest you sort that out if you plan on hanging out here or on other internet forums. Most of them are a darned sight more aggressive about slamming people who do what you did here than we are.

I am asking you to stay on topic for both the forum (start doing and posting CF workouts) and the threads you post in (already explained). If that bothers you, you’re welcome not to be here, but I would prefer that you stay, start doing the workouts and post your results to one of the open topics in the CF WOD forum (http://www.crossfitbrandx.com/index.php/forums/viewforum/16/).

oh yeah, i believe i demonstrated my interest by asking an actual question.i actually asked a couple on another thread but those went unread. thanks for that, too.i only started my research.i didn’t know deads and pushups and sprinting and dips are all noncf related. somehow i noticed CF dudes use them a lot in their routines and call other people, who use them, “bodybuilders”, but also do not hesitate to mention that CF is not bodybuilding, that CF people are athletes and they ” stand apart”. but anyways, no use arguing. you can relax now, sir. i found a CF intro class at my school’s gym. have fun here.

Excellent!
As I’m sure you’ve seen in your research here, we always recommend that everyone attend a CF intro program of some sort as soon as possible when they start CF.

That should stand you in very good stead

The reverse is not true.

I’m quite happy to teach CF to you or anyone who is willing to give it a try. There comes a point though where you have to actually do the workouts and as far as this forum goes, you’ve reached it.

I am hoping that in time you will understand that your behaviour here has been shockingly immature and borders on rudeness. If you don’t you will find the world a very unfriendly place.
For now, I’ve had enough.

I put a lot of time into this forum, I’ve made over 7000 posts here, most of which are answers to questions. You’ve made 11 and you’ve been a PITA to deal with for most of them.
One of the few perquisites to this “job” is that occasionally I get to bounce the arse of someone who richly deserves it out of here and I’m hereby doing it to you.

I wish you all the best and I genuinely hope that you continue with CF and enjoy it as much as I have and do.

Goodbye.
