I’ll do this one at home on Saturday.

We have too many heroes lost and not enough workout days to commemorate them. I think it’s fitting to always think of the men and women in service, whether military or peace officers and public safety, as we do our workouts. A bit of motivation to throw a little of our sweat and maybe a drop of blood on the floor in their honor.

(first round 6:34)
with 12 # db and row pullups.

I found a 20# in the rack after I finished. They’re all homemade with no markings. I’m going to rest a bit then see how long it takes to to 40 kb swings with it.

Gym Jones is Mark Twight’s gym.  This workout came from him.  I am assuming this is another Seinfeld reference.

1.5 pood Kettlebell swing 40-32-25-16-8-4 reps
Pull-ups 20-16-12-8-4-2 reps

Abysmal:

Front Squat 45lbs (a la Dan John—elbows out, chest out, leaning back) a** to grass:

80-60-failed on next one up. went down. couldn’t get up without leaning…same for others.

1.5 pood swing: (40lb dumbbells): 40-32-16-8-4 (I forgot the 25  )

Pull-ups: 11 (2x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1) (I tried 250lbs this time. Man, I gotta lotta…

...so I added 2x8min Tabata cycling until my heart rate 170.  :x )

Definitely not Jonesworthy. I posted just for the anecdotal benefit later when I do better. Bummer.

P.S. I did do one final pull-up at full bodyweight (290lbs) eyes to bar.  BTW…bodyweight when I started was 292lbs, not 285lbs. My error. Guess I should keep eating the sticks and berries, and keep away from the honey pot.

Kodiak, could you not have gone to a standard squat? I don’t know since I’ve never the the A** to grass method…I only go to parallel or a little lower.

Funny, but the kettlebell swings actually made the next round of squats more bearable…maybe the hip flex for the swing stretches out that killer thigh twitch from doing 80 squats….

I wanted to try out the front squats. And you’re right about those thigh twitches. Mine was right in my leg socket where it meets the hip. Wouldn’t go away.

From the a** to grass position to parallel thigh was harder for me than parallel up. Maybe I should have been more conservative. But sometimes I just want to dive in.

Well, I did this workout during the Krav class Saturday morning, and I can finally walk normally today!!  It looked so easy on paper!!  250 squats, what was I thinking ?!  I did all of the rounds, 20lb barbell and jumping pull-ups in 25 minutes.  I’m thinking it’s called “Jonesworthy” because you’ll want to kill yourself with poison Kool-aid the next day!  Wow.
