Cool, thanks for the heads up. I will pick something else to work on tonight. Maybe one of those pullupalooza routines….(with ring rows).

We have too many heroes lost and not enough workout days to commemorate them. I think it’s fitting to always think of the men and women in service, whether military or peace officers and public safety, as we do our workouts. A bit of motivation to throw a little of our sweat and maybe a drop of blood on the floor in their honor.

That is one Bad A** workout (Nancy). Even with a “broomstick” I was closer to meeting pukie than almost any other workout…except maybe Chelsea.

Laura,
I am glad you took my advice on the broomstick.  Your form looked better every round.  I have been focusing on this movement for months and spent quite a bit of time with just the broomstick.  I took it fairly easy yesterday.  I generally do 3 rounds of 15 reps with the O bar as part of my warm up.  I’ll probably bump up to 65 pounds next time this one comes around.  I would suggest making this a part of your workout at least a couple times a week that way you will be ready for some weight the next time this comes around.

I’m starting to use the Crossfit warmup and it includes broomstick OH squats so that should help.

Thanks for the advice. You da man! (Thanks for letting me know my form improved. It’s hard to tell because it feels awkward!)

BTW-Everybody who DID NOT listen to my advice and used a weight when I said use the broomstick, please check out the CrossFit message board.  The forum on Fitness thread on Effectiveness of doing complex exercises while tired?  Read Dave Warners thread.

Also please remember the number one rule for CrossFit at Brand X.

Of course, I had butt into that thread. smile

This is one of the thornier issues on that board, I hope I don’t make a fool of myself.

My problem was that my knee started to bug me during round 3. I did not quit though. I am not sure what is up with my knee, I think I need to se a doctor about it. There is a crunching noise when I bend it, not just while doing squats it is all the time. My time last night was pretty slow about 25 minutes, I really am not a runner.

I am Jack’s complete lack of surprise for what Lucky will do to me next.
I once droped a phone from 30ft in the air, it did not work after that. Who’s next?

I have that noise in my knee.  You can hear it in the living room when I go up stairs.  It still works so I don’t worry about it.
