I just got done going through Coach B’s Oly Cert this weekend.

Fun stuff.  Day 1 we went through the progressions into a Snatch, and Day 2 was progressions into the Clean/Clean and Jerk/ and the Split Jerk.

Two days is hardly enough time to be completely polished in the O-Lifts, but I learned a few fine points as to hand placement, body alignment, a proper dip and drive, and most importantly foot placement.

Coach B is an amazing coach.  His day job consists of strength and o-lift training to high school students.  His skill in teaching is evident as he can easily manage such a large group of athletes, and teach them the finer points of Olympic Lifting.  He is loud and boisterous, and his motivation is contagious.

Needless to say, I had a great time and I would recommend it to anyone who is struggling on the O-lifts (like myself), or wants to refine their methods.

Maybe now I can actually attempt Isabel.

Oh ya, from a Scottish visitor at the cert, I learned that the guys at Crossfit CS are “bampots”.  He must be referring to their involvement with Painstorm.

Thanks Gonzo. I really envy you.

I’m assured there will be certs in Australia next year, one of which I will attend, so I’ve dug out your posts on preparing for and attending the cert you went to. They’ll be my guide to:
a) Surviving
b) Not embarrassing myself.

I’m mostly worried about b) :D
