I watched the video from the main CF site on Thrusters and noticed that the guy’s elbows stay pointed down during the front squat movement.  Is this correct?

If the thruster is the combination of a front squat and a push press then I sort of thought that there would be significant elbow movement during the exercise.

If the elbows remain down, then does that mean that that the bar is never racked on the shoulders?

You’re right -The elbows should be up in the front squat position at the start of the thruster and during the descent. As you stand back up the elbows can drop into the press position.

Range of motion qualifies the rep. Good form makes it easier and safer.

Thanks LD. He is correct. Some of the symptoms of elbows being down: Flexibility, Fatigue, speed or just don’t know. Like LD said the range of motion is still good, it just makes it harder the heavier the weght.
