Day 1 has been great, although I may wake up tommorow a bit sore…
We started with fwd rolls backward rolls cartwheels and handstands.
In the afternoon we worked on the rings, support position, forward roll,
back roll, skin the cat, lever progressions, ring push ups and one armed pushup with other arm extended thingies..
Lots of detailed information on form progressions and cues- extremely valuable
information on how to correctly spot these progressions as well.
I am really looking forward to Sunday and
the Jacuzzi tonight
Wow! I can’t tell you the amount of information I’ve gotten from just the first day of this cert. I’m infirmed, so I’ve done my best to participate whenever possible. The good thing is, Roger’s teaching skills have made me confident I will be able to teach and, eventually, perform them when I am healed. He is knowledgeable and is adept at imparting that information. I compare him to our Coach Jeff. High praise, indeed. Pearls of wisdom at every turn. Thanks to my injury and having to sit out some, I’ve taken over 20 pages of notes (just in the first day and I’m having others asking me to email my notes)!!! Not just blah, blah, blah. More like, I don’t want to forget that!!! This cert is important to CrossFitters, especially those of us who figured we’d just never do this stuff. I will, and you will.
Great job Roger. \Day 1 and I have got so much great information, and can apply the tech. and spotting with confidence. This was alot of fun too! Looking forward to day 2. HERE I COME!
what a great cert. I am very happy with the things that I learned the material is awesome and is something that I see as extremly applicable to my CrossFit workout regimine
1. I have a giant hole in my fitness in the area of gymnastics. Just amazed by how hard it is. But Andreas and Roger are great coaches and were so patient and encouraging. I’m going to be working on this, for sure.
2. Coaching the moves is really important, knowing where to spot the clients and how to communicate what they need to do. I may not teach classes but it will be good to be a student who’s trained in spotting and cueing the moves, and coaching will improve my skills too I hope.
Truly amazing. BIG thanks for Mikki and Jeff for hosting and great co-learners from around the country. What a fun group of people to train with.
Me: I can’t!
Roger: Yes you can!
me: I can’t!
Jeff: WHAT did you say?!
Me: I’m TRYING!
Jeff: That’s better!
Thank you so much Roger and Andre`s! What a fantastic experience this weekend was. I so appreciate your time, patience and supportiveness. I learned a ton, had a great time and am sore in places I didn’t know I had. I can’t believe the things you were able to get an old lady to do. Can’t wait to implement some of it into my classes!
I’m jealous, too. I’ll be at the next one if it means letting my neighbors borrow Logan to do help with their household chores so that I could pay for it…just kidding. But I’ll definitely be there.
