Alex, I’ll take “Painstorms for $500”

The answer is “1:03:19”

Me: “How long does it take TP to do 500 45lb thrusters . . . “

Yeah, that’s all for today . . .

So which of you delightful chaps do I hunt down . . um, thank for this?  I mean, as soon as I can walk . . . .

or lift my hands above my waist . . .

TP

What on earth were you thinking?  Did you lose a bet?

Thinking’s got nuthin to do with it . . . showed up.  It was on the board . . . .

Our affiliate does longer wods on Saturday . . . actually Suffer on Saturday.  I mean, we don’t have Woe on Wednesday . . . . Terror on Thursday . . . but we’ll do painstorms and other long wods on sat.  They have little training benefit after oh, 50 . . . . . it’s pure pain tolerance and guts.  Oh, and two scoops of stupid.  With idiot sprinkles on top. Have i mentioned the time we did “Fran” as a warmup?

http://rantopedia.blogspot.com/2008/02/oh-what-foolishness.html

Is this a spectator event? Can I sit in a lawn chair, drinking beer, pointing and laughing?

Well, I hope you have all your honey do’s done. I can see it now, “No Honey, I can’t hang any more Christmas lights.”

It’s not a spectator event if you wanna keep your crossfit street cred . . . . oh and yeah, one of the girls beat me.  I got 20 reps back and couldn’t catch up.

http://www.crossfitplano.com/saturday-december-20-2008.html

But she’s a hoss and beats me at lots of things (but usually at the girl weight . . . . . today I don’t even have that excuse . . . ).

And got all the honey do’s done.  grin  Can’t let a painstorm slow me down . . . .

There’s a reason they don’t call it “Fight Gone Good”.

r2: 3:18.51 @15 kph (switched to my favorite treadmill)
r3: 3:06.31 @15.5 kph
r4: 3:00.85 @16 kph

all breaks were ~ 2 minutes + the time to get the treadmill back up to speed…I walked the break to keep from stiffening up.

Nice job on the PR’s - RS & FD

Split Jerk 1-1-1-1-1-1-1 reps

155/175/185/195/205/215/225

225 went up easy(relatively), more time and reps and I would have liked to try to have gone higher. Still, it felt real good, very aggressive, I’m pleased.

shock Oh…lord.  That’s just…  Are your hamstrings functioning right now?

My favorite part of the Cert was Boz talking about how to program a WOD.  He refers to some WODs as “any @-hole workouts”.  (trying to keep this G rated).  In other words, “any @-hole could have come up with this.”  I think you may have just experienced one of those.  Although if this is some GD or Super Swede nonsense, I apologize.  Sirs.

Actually, hamstrings okay . . . so far, but that’s relative.  Triceps, quads, not so much.

This is a painstorm.  So somehow, GD is involved, if not directly, somehow in spirit . . . . . wink

Normally, Cfit plano uses mainsite wods, though the Saturdays can be worse and very painstormish . . .

Too easy today—must make time for a proper workout soon.

Meanwhile, only did a 12 + 6 pullup/chinup split while walking the dogs before dawn, and then earlier tonight 50 minutes of nonstop basketball drills at the YMCA.

Postscript: I think the bball thing was a spinoff of a parent volunteer thing at my kids’ school; I’m a gym manager for the high school varsity team at home games. Holding an air squat against a gym wall for time turns out to be a pretty good way to get some kind of workout in even during games.

Most of the A##hole workouts are “Chippers” by the way.  This one was created by “Lucky Dawg”.  It was posted in May 2007 as the 25th Painstorm.  By the way, way back then when I wasn’t in such good shape it took me 29:36, and I did 501, because I always do a little more.
