I was doing todays workout and the screen on the rowing machine was broken.

I counted the repetitions but was wondering if there was a ratio between pulls and calories burned.

Thanks

This will depend on the damper settings.  I think if I set the C2 around 5-6 and pull hard I can get about 1 cal per pull… but as I get tired I can’t keep that power per pull up.  So maybe 0.75 Cals per Pull??

Anyone else got a guess?

Warm-Up
Foam Roller
Row 500m (1:28)
2 x CFWU

CFS WOD 081231 - Over-Head Squats & L-Sit Pull-Ups
AMRAP in 20 minutes:
10 x OHS, 95#
5 x L-Sit PLU
9 rounds + OHS @ 20:07

Cool Down
Stretches

OHS were all unbroken.  L-Sit PLU were a little sketchy.  Definitely singles right away and I was using my legs to swing up to the L-sit and start the pull-up… but I’m ok with that.  This is a lot of L Pull-Ups for me, so I can accept a little bit of crappy form if it kept the workout rolling.

If I remember right from Fight Gone Bad, for me its closer to 2 or 3 pulls for one Calorie burned.

Squat Clean and Jerk

95 x 5
115 x 3
135 x 2
155 x 2
165 x 1
185 x 1 (25lb PR)
190 (Failed Twice)

Inspired by TexasPatrick:

7 Squat Clean and Jerk 135lbs
21 Pullups
5 Squat Clean and Jerk 145lbs
15 Pullups
3 Squat Clean and Jerk 155lbs
9 Pullups

6:37

That was a fun heavy metcon.  A little different by adding weight with each set of clean and jerks.  Good way to bring in the new year with a big Squat Clean and Jerk PR which is also 5lbs over my bodyweight.  Sweet!

Sumo deadlift high-pull 40 pounds (reps)
Box Jump 15” box (reps)

Burpees (reps)

Working alone, lost count of each individual set so I just kept a running tally.

If I can’t make it to my goal I can make it through the week.
If I can’t make it through the week I can make it through this workout.
If I can’t make it through this workout I can make it though this set.
If I can’t make it through this set I can make it through this rep.
And God Almighty cannot stop me from finishing this rep.

Gym closed, did 36’ on my bike trainer.

Probably good thing, neck/back and jaw still sore from Tuesday’s Olympic bar uppercut during Push presses…

Happy New Year all!

Did FGB the following way:
Barbell Thrusters (20lbs) was trying to go for count instead of weight
Sumo Deadlift High Pull (45lbs)
Box Jumps 24”
Push Press (45lbs)
Rows

Total Score: 305 (last time was 263)
Don’t know if the difference was the thrusters or having a partner do the time instead of me doing it by myself

I don’t have a C2 rower avialable, so I ran 400 m runs instead of the 1 minute row.

Not counting the 400 m runs, my score for the Wall Balls, SDHPs, Box Jumps, and Push Presses is 374.

SDHP 30/25/21
BJ 32/34/35
PP 33/31/30
