SATURDAY 090117

Run 10 K

Post time to comments.

Compare to 081213.

Please hold questions and comments until Garddawg or BlueBugofJustice post the scaling, which usually includes links to exercise videos, common substitutions and other helpful information.
The mainpage of CrossFit directs new people here for help getting started.  CF can be confusing enough for a newbie, we want to make it as easy as possible for them.  We ask you to be courteous and thoughtful of the newbies.  If they show up here for the first time and have to wade through 5-10 posts before we have a chance to scale for them, it can make it more difficult.

Blank’n tulatel…

Plan was to get up before it got light and run easy for 90 minutes.

Just had to see if anything was posted yet. Tried to block it out of my mind, but couldn’t.

timed final 10k @ 54:23

total run was between 15 and 16k, 90:30

hilly and chilly. Last run on these shoes, they’re dead and I’m going to be aching.

The park where I do pullups was crowded on the weekend, and I thought I might freak out some of the moms with kids doing thrusters there, so split the WOD in two:

20 pullups for time: 3:05

Then at home:
10 Ab-mat full-range unanchored situps
10 Ab-mat supermans
30 30 kg thrusters
20 Ab-mat full-range unanchored situps
20 Ab-mat supermans
20 30 kg thrusters
30 Ab-mat full-range unanchored situps
30 Ab-mat supermans
10 30 kg thrusters

11:34—3:29/3:55/4:08

Wasn’t aggressive enough on the thrusters, rest was OK. Need to get a pullup bar at home!

Don’t blame me, I’m just the messenger! Or else, come to Ramstein on June 27 and 28, and we’ll sea about that face to face. Yes: there’s a European Cert being held there. Check out http://www.crossfitbrandx.com/index.php/forums/viewthread/5911/
Besides, you needed a reason to buy new shoes anyway. tongue wink

Oh Dear! It seems I jolted myself awake this morning by attempting to do a kipping pull-up in my sleep! tongue rolleye CrossFit on the brain.
I go in for my first “Intro Session” today at an affiliate that was recommended to me by radiosound (thanks!). Then I’ll need to sign up for some 1-on-1 so I don’t hurt myself. I really can’t afford it, but I really really can’t afford not to. Will report back on the WOD.

My schedule has been out of whack.  I haven’t been able to follow the main page wod due to cold, missions, and Marine Corps Martial Arts Training. (We’ve been practicing a lot of shoulder throws, and counters to round kicks which are follwed by leg sweeps.  This takes a heavy toll on the body).

For Big D,

5 rounds for time:
5 Power clean and jerks @ 155lbs
15 pull-ups
20 Abmat situps
Time 13:10

(I thought I would get under 10, but the Clean and Jerks taxed my grip for the pull ups.  I thought my heart was going to explode)

Puppy Scale:

2.5 miles

First real run in almost a year.  Felt great!  Thanks to Crossfit and Brand X no walk breaks.
I’m new to Crossfit (3 weeks) after a LONG time lurking.  I think I might be hooked…
