Did a lot of climbing in the climbing gym today, went better than ever. Made some routes that I’ve never done without rest before. Very pleased. Then I did 4 rounds of “Barbara Lite”
“Barbara lite”
Four rounds, each for time of:
10 Pull-ups
20 Push-ups
30 Sit-ups
40 Squats
About 24 minutes including rest. It was really hard. Situps killed me, oddly enough. I am thinking it has to do with climbing, usually I can string together 30 situps without much trouble. On the awesome side tho, I made 10 consecutive pullups for the first time, and then again on round two! I still can’t really kip, so for me this is a big number.
5 rounds each for time with 3:00 rest in between
5 5-second hangs from pull-up bar
10 knee push-ups
15 sit-ups
20 squats
1:16, 3:37, 8:35, 5:21, 7:18
I’m pretty sure that during round one, the start/stop button on my watch got jogged during the pushups. Round three, I was having some grip issues, which I solved using those rough paper towels. Thanks to Khalid for help with form and tenacity.
Totally missed the whole “rest three minutes between sets” and “post time for each of five rounds”. Just read the workout and ran with it…next time I will be sure to read more thoroughly…great workout anyway though.
Pack:
“Barbara lite”
Five rounds, each for time of:
10 Pull-ups (different grip each round)
20 Push-ups
30 Sit-ups (unanchored)
40 Squats
Rest precisely three minutes between each round. Post time for each of five rounds to comments
Completed in this scaling:
Rnd 1: 2:18
Rnd 2: 2:12
Rnd 3: 2:14
Rnd 4: 2:21
Rnd 5: 2:17
After the first set I thought to myself that this workout might not be enough…Then after the 4th round, I realized the final set would be hard to maintain my sub-2:22min/ round time…I reached deep inside my inner character to forge through with all I had and then after completion, I huffed and heaved all the way to this posting.
Did not do the CFT yesterday due to me being too hungover from a rough Friday night, going to bed at 2:30 in the morning and waking up at 0600 on Sat to go to duty. (Rough week called for a well deserved good time out and about).
Heavy lifts with a headache, and not 100% equals injury from poor form and lack of concentration. Will make up later…....
could have gone higher on the squat…i was being cautious due to my knee. these are my first weighted squats since before thanksgiving. did pretty well if i do say so myself! almost a 100lb improvement. I’m pissed my shoulder press is still static. it’s driving me insane. My shoulders ARE angry from the push presses yesterday and the HSPUs…i hope they’re stronger once they recover, or what the hell am i doing the HSPUs for (besides the tshirt)
Bicep Curls - 60# (almost didn’t make this pr attempt, but glanced in the mirror for an extra boost to pull it out)
Straight Leg Deadlift - 185# (put my heels on a small piece if one by four to really torch my glute-ham connection)
Half Squats - 450# (of course, I did halfs because going below parallel is bad for the knees)
Ahem. Just kidding.
CFT
BS- 245# PR
DL- 2653 PR
SP- 115#
Very happy to set two PR’s. I was excited about this total because I have been very consistently CFing for the first time. Three weeks of 3 on, 1 off has made me stronger!
