Play Day at http://crossfitkids.com/

The mainpage of CrossFit directs new people here for help getting started.  CF can be confusing enough for a newbie, we want to make it as easy as possible for them.  We ask you to be courteous and thoughtful of the newbies.

Back Squat 5 x 5

Sub: Front squat 5 x 5 (no squat stands)

w/u: OHS 3 x 10 kg, FS 5 x 40 kg, 5 x 50 kg, 5 x 55 kg, 5 x 60 kg

w/o: FS 5 x 65 kg, 5 x 66 kg, 5 x 67 kg, 5 x 68 kg, 5 x 70 kg (new PR 1 RM, 5 RM)

Still clean limited on this one, think I’m trying to go to fast on the first pull (anticipating the need to get around faster transitioning between the second and third pull) at the higher weights and my timing is out of whack. Need to work on this next time cleans come up.

Just curious: what does the “Sparta challenge” consist of?

10 min on elliptical
CFWU x 2

“Kelly” - Pack option 2

Three rounds for time:
Run 400 m (.25 on treadmill @ 10.0 mph)
30 Box jumps, 24” box
30 Dumbbell thrusters, 20# DB

20:12

I lost some time walking from the cardio area to where I had the box set up (about 25 steps) and also waiting for the treadmill to start up each round.

I do believe 5 rounds of this would have killed me.  Maybe next time I’ll go for 4 rounds or perhaps Rx’d!

Cheers from Boston

Back Squats
5-5-5-5-5

185
225
245
265
275 (PR)

Had to do these on a Smith Machine. Not sure if the bar counts for 45 like normal, if not I’ll have to reduce these by the difference. Either way PR since first time around on these in my crossfit modern era.

Did these low and slow. Only a little fore and aft wobble on last two reps. decided to stop there because i didn’t have anyone to critique my form and I’m basically new again to these.

Thanks Nappy. Sparta challenge looks brutal. Maybe I’ll try it out once my wrist heals and I can get back to overhead stuff. Thanks for posting the link!
