I have done crossfit for about 6 months now.  I have made freakish strength gains but my cardio capabilities for endurance mtbing (4+ hours) have decreased significantly.  I find that after doing the WOD I am too wasted to complete my cycling requirements.  Is it a good idea to break the WODs into day on/ day off cycle so I can complete my cycling requirements or should I give up endurance cycling or crossfit?  I guess I am asking if crossfit can coexist with endurance cycling? Has anyone struggled with this balance?  Changed the format for both sports?  Etc.?

Thanks for your help

These guys may be what you’re looking for.

Additionally, you’re looking at a specialization, so something may have to give (not completely) but you’ll have to make a balance in there somewhere.

I used to supplement my WODs with Crossfit Endurance and it helped enormously!  Plus it’s fun!

Thanks for the help, I didn’t know there was an endurance supplement to the reg. WOD. I am going to give it a try.

Hi,

Have you tried the Crossfitendurance.com workouts yet?  Did they help?  I also ride MTB and want to start with CFE once I get the hang of the main CF workouts.
