Moving Stuff day at Brand X

Groups of 3.  You had a chose of pushing, carrying, throwing, or flipping things around the building.
  Upon return do:
      1 rope climb
      2 hspu
      5 squats

Each round you had to multiply the round number by the above exercises.  Round two would be 2 rope climbs, 4 hspu, and 10 squats etc.

My group completed 4 1/2 rounds in the given time.

CF Oakland Fallen Hero WOD-fundraiser for families of the 4 officers killed last week in Oakland.  Huge turnout.  Day started with words from an Oakland SWAT captain reminding us of his men’s heroism and thanking us for our hard work.  Then Mike mentioned that he started getting emails at 3:00 AM from affiliates back east that were also doing the WOD in solidarity.  Tears all around.

Run 400m
40 deadlifts @ 275#/185# (I did 204#)
40 box jumps @ 24” (20” box)
40 push presses @ 115#/85# (screwed up here-I grabbed the 25#DBs instead of the 35#-should have done 40#)
Run 400m

11:49 I went way too light on the PP-I finished ahead of most.  I think the average time for the firebreathers/full Rx was ~20 minutes.

Amazing community/amazing morning.

Good work, Brendhan. I didn’t get to do a workout today…

We have too many heroes lost and not enough workout days to commemorate them. I think it’s fitting to always think of the men and women in service, whether military or peace officers and public safety, as we do our workouts. A bit of motivation to throw a little of our sweat and maybe a drop of blood on the floor in their honor.

The event in Oakland was stunning. The response of the community was equaling stunning.  Our prayers are with you;  the victums and their families are in our prayers. Show us the light in the darkness. I’ll do your workout within the week.

Rest Day:
Picked up my son from a Boy Scout Jamboree and drove him 100+ miles to club soccer game and then back again for a possible OA “tap-out”.  I then cooked dinner for one of the smartest people I know, my wife (sciencist and professor: insect toxcology- TAMU).  I’m blessed without merit… anticipating tomorrow’s WOD.

you . . . you . . . married a girl who kills bugs?  You are blessed without merit . . . . so you don’t have that whole “I think I may have possibly seen the outline of a shadow of a spider in the other room” duty?  You Sir, are man among men . . .

Just a high gravity low strength day . . . just happy I checked off the “workout” box.

squats:

5x3 . . . which ended up being 4x3 . .

135/155/175/195 . . . was supposed to be 215 but 195 was off, way off.  Form went all to heck.  Got it, but back was really sore all the way down and up and thought that bumping up would be dumb.

Then hit

4 rounds of 8 pullups/8 ring dips.

5:24

Was going for 5 but ran into time issues.  That was turning into a fiasco of epic proportions.

And add to that I don’t know what day to post on . . . .

“Lynne”

Five rounds for max reps of:
Body weight bench press
Pull-ups

Bench Press(160lbs)/Pull Ups
1: 13/17
2: 7/11
3: 4/8
4: 3/12
5: 3/9

Rested 3 minutes between rounds.  All the pull-ups were kipping.  I’m embarrassed of my lack of muscular endurance.
