3rd week of CFSB.  Back squats.  I wanted to end at 135# which was 5# more than last week.

3X95#

3X110#

3X120#

3X130#

3X140#  A PR

I felt good doing them and I knew they were legit because Nichole watched every one and said they were good.

Then at Brand X I did the lunge, pullupalooza WOD.  I finally quit at 18:30.  I got to the 9 pull-up combo.  That was a lot of lunges!

Man this worked the legs big time. Quads were burning like nobodys business afterwards. Had to force myself into the garage for this one after a long day at work. Feel better for it now.

Sometimes I do not have access to a pull up bar, would a push press work in a pinch?

Is there anything you can do rows or beginner pullups from? A smith machine perhaps?

Not really.  I don’t know what a Smith machine is, but I’m kind of stuck to the confines of my basement today.

Ah, okay.  I’ve seen the “broom handle over two chairs”  beginner pullup.

Have you thought about “poor man’s (and poor woman’s) rings”?  = two straps from home depot (they come in packs of three, they’re nylon and cost about $6)  And about 8 inches of pvc pipe.  Cut the pipe in half, viola, handles.  Thread the straps on through, hang them from something adn you’ve got a way to do beginner pullups (and ring pullups of a sort) anywhere you’ve got some place to hang them from.

So I started to do an Affiliate’s workout known as Omaha Crossfit yesterday. Today’s workout was 5 rounds of 5 Reps of 185# deadlift and 10 blurpee’s for time. I did it in 13:54.

Nice! The games deads and burpees WOD!

We have rings and a stub bar in our gym.  I suppose I should suck it up and use the gym where all the equipment is.

Time: 14.48.

Having learned, during the past weekend, how to research the spaces & places of pushing even harder than I thought I could (at the Euro-Qualifiers), today I’ve decided to get as many kipping singles as possible. So my pull-ups were mixture of nose-to-the-bar kipping pull-ups and some jumping pull-ups, when the first ones wouldn’t go anymore. I managed to get two kips in a row once (though they weren’t chin-to-the-bar), while one of the kips was a real chin-2-the-bar. Cool.
