Rest Day on http://CrossFit.com

Skill Day on http://CrossFitKids.com

The mainpage of CrossFit directs new people here for help getting started.  CF can be confusing enough for a newbie, we want to make it as easy as possible for them.  We ask you to be courteous and thoughtful of the newbies.

Was away from the computer for a couple of days.

Did MER Deadlifts with my unbroken arm (right) on Thursday afternoon (4/23)
45kg
65kg
70kg (fail)
70kg (fail)
65kg
67.5kg (fail)
67.5kg

had a bunch of false starts where my hand wasn’t exactly in the center of the bar, so as soon as the weight got off the ground it tipped wildly.  I counted the 70kg and 67.5kg fails because I kept the bar even until my knees, when my grip gave, either to one side or the other or right down the middle (on one of the 70s).  I guess it’s expected that, with only one hand, the grip will be the weak link?

“Angie”

For time:
100 Pull-ups
100 Push-ups
100 Sit-ups
100 Squats

15:24

I was comparing my time with other and I was proud at first, but then I kept on reading and realized that I had cheated. I broke down the workout in series of 10.
I will do it right next time!!

It’s a beautiful , sunny morning in Bulgaria .
Day for run : 5 km

it takes me : 24:54 min

..I feel pain in every part of my body - this week was long and hard . I enjoyed the run today ...it was so good to know that is just run ..without pull-ups , push-ups , squats or something else LOL

Deadlift Workout Rx’d 042209:
135 warm-up
155- 185 - 225 - 245- 275- 275- 275
I tried to do 305, but my hand grip was too weak, and the bar just rolled out of my grip.
Compared to last entry:
135-135-185-185-185-185-185.
Felt real good, otherwise.

I saw this in another post, but I’ll echo it - as much as my body needs the rest I was almost disappointed to take a rest day.  This is the first program I’ve been on where I’ve looked forward to putting myself through pain.  I can’t tell you how much I *don’t* miss slogging away for hours with LSD workouts and, combined with a change in diet, I’ve gone from 185 to 177.  So, thanks to all who put in time to make this (all of the CrossFits) available.  It’s a great resource.

...but just so there is no misunderstanding, I’m definitely resting today.  Not “sore”, but my body is just very tired after the last week and I’ve done the last three days in a row.  I still think that the “Filthy Fifty” was the most responsible.

CFSB
Had a surprisingly good workout, considering I talked about CrossFit more than I actually did CrossFit this week

Front Squats
3x5
at same weight as last week’s 3x3 !

Back Squat, high rep set
Intended to be cautious on these as I was home & by myself this morning. (hmmm, what does that say about my Friday night?) But felt strong.
21 reps - same as last week, but 5# heavier !

————————————-
quick trip to Farmers’ Market, and the Home Depot for more paving stones
————————————-

“Michael”, scaled
3x
—800m jog
—35 back ext, on floor. Thought about using stability ball, but would have turned into a Radiosound story
—35 situps
4 interruptions = not for time
