Can’t find demo on chest to bar pull-up.  Is it different from a regular pull-up?  If so how?

I can’t work out today so would it be okay to just stay later at the gym tomorrow to work on these? I’ve never done OLY lifting so I imagine it will take a lot of practice. I don’t plan on doing the full workout but just some skill work I guess.

Absolutely.  Snatch and the clean (as well as the jerk) portion are technical lifts that require technique and you need all the practice you (and I) can get.

Normally, chin over bar is a full ROM pullup.

A ctb means every time you pull, your chest must touch the bar.  And I even think the actual definition means clavicle or below.  The second part of your kip where you pop your hips open needs to be massive unless you’re Unforgibbon, who does bbtb (belly button to bar) pullups . . .

Thanks TexasPatrick.  I want to do every set and rep right.  I appreciate the response.  Off to the gym.

Pack:
Three rounds, 21-15- and 9 reps, for time of:
65 pound Squat snatch
Chest to bar Pull-ups

Time = 22:21

I need to spend a lot of time with a PVC pipe working on my snatch form.  Yuck!  In light of that, I opted to slow it down and really try to learn and improve, rather than being sloppy and quick.  Still a good workout.

Quick question:

Should we time just the three rounds of snatch squat or should the chest to bar pull-ups be included in our time?

Also - Are we doing the chest to bar pulls to exhaustion?  Is it one round of pull-ups, or do we do the 21-15-9 like the snatch squats?

Time from start to finish of the entire work out, including snatch, pull ups and rest time.

The pull ups are the same as snatch, rounds of 21-15-9.  Don’t worry, you’ll likely reach exhaustion.  wink

Oh - I know!  Haha

not convinced that my snatch form is very good - this was the second or third time I’ve done them
but all the pull-ups were good

Day 14.  This work out was brutal.  I have never done a Squat Snatch before, ever.  I practiced the form with a light weight bar and it was difficult.  I then added the weight and my form was all over the place.  Totally sloppy.  I don’t think one rep of my Squat Snatches was done without something being wrong, but I did them all.  This will definitely require practice.  I also had to kip most of the Chest to bar Pull-ups with jumping as the Pull-up bar at the gym I work out at is too close to the wall for any swing.  This is the first time I’ve had to substantially kip on Pull-ups even though I do most of them as dead pulls without too much swinging or movement.

95 lb Bar squat Snatch
chest to Bar as ordered.
Had trouble with my form a little on the snatches and they wiped me out, pull ups not a problem, Baghdad dust was the biggest problem as my chest felt like i’d been sucking on a chimmney when I’d finished.
7:34min need to work on those squat snatches though.

Almost broke my streak of continuous-improvement workouts ... but eked it out.

Press
3x5
as same # as last week’s 3x3

the “demonic” multi-rep sets (I love that description!)
45# / 12-9-6

MetCon
I use this as a benchmark:
5x
—250m row
—15 SDLHP [rnds 1-2 = 2x15# dbs; rnds 3-4-5 =2x20# dbs)
—10 pullups, asst

19:28 (PR)
vs 2/17, ~ same time, but I had used 12# dbs through out. Same asst on the pullups.

5th round / 250m row = 1:02 (PR)
