I just have a quick question.  I cannot do more than 4-6 ring dips at a time.  Do you guys think it would be good to do as many ring dips as I can then go to jumping ring dips when I can’t do anymore or should I go to the regular dip station?

Go to the bar dips if the ring dips end up giving you too much rest. When doing the bar dips make sure you drop down low, shoulders below the elbows.

Brand X is located in an industrial area.  There are many buildings housing electricians, woodworking shops, construction types.  Get the picture?  So a whole bunch of us of all different ages, gender and ability go skipping by as these men are watching.  Wondering what the heck are we doing.  Puts a whole other spin on forging elite fitness.  So after skipping merrily down the path we got to the WOD which consisted of:

5 rounds of 21 SDHP 95/65#
21 ring dips

I used 55# and did the jump to support progression on the rings.

Harder than I thought.  It took me 16:40.  Great work by Dan E and Mike doing the ring dips.

SDHP and dips

10 min. bike
CFWU (stretch, squat, GH sit-ups and back extension on Smith machine, KPUs 6/6/8)

Puppy Plus:
4 RFT of 45# SDHP 21 reps and 21 dips
15.44

My arms are still quivering and I have a bruise on my chin from one of the SDHPs (at least my tongue wasn’t between my teeth).
As bad as my KPU were last week, they seem noticably better this week…

Sweet, that’s what I was thinking.  That way it will stay a metcon workout.  Thanks for the help.

Squats

2000m row 8:29, first time I’ve done this for time, good to have a benchmark, pretty sure I can improve it.

5@45, 5@75, 5@95
3x3x3x3x3
115-120-125-130-135
20@105

Laying low this week, no WOD’s, lifting M/W/F, Squats today , front squat Wednesday, not sure what I’ll do Friday, since my elbow won’t like presses, maybe OHS and drop the bar every time.

That’s a great time for the 2000m row, less than 2:07min. /500m avg.  is really outstanding.

For my first time doing SDHP, I started light to make sure my form is proper. I also did assisted ring dips.(Had the rings for months and happy I finally used them!) I’m not sure my rings were hung the proper distance from each other either. They felt very awkward, but I’m sure that’s normal the first time using them.
5 Rounds:
21 reps of SDHP- 45lbs
21 reps of assisted ring dips

*Time: 19:55

Followed with:
10 minutes on the heavy bag
2 rounds of speed bag
Pyramid kicks (Up to ten and then back down)

buy in
2x
25m bear crawl
25 push-ups
15 squats
5 broad jumps

ME Work
Front squat (3RM=225)
[5@135;3@155;3@175;1@195 warm-up]
3@210 felt extra heavy today
ONLY 1,1,1@220 *1min rest b/w sttempts
ONLY 1@230 for stimulus
(3-4min rest b/w sets)
5min rest, then…
back squat @ 225, attempt >15reps in a single set or 30reps total with 1min rest b/w sets; got 7,5,5,5,5,3 (7reps is a new multi-rep PR)

Wow, the weakness today.

10min rest, then…

WOD (SCALED)
Three rounds, 21-15- and 9 reps, for time of:
45# Squat snatch (12,9/8,7/9)
c-2-b Pull-ups (7,7,7/8,7/6,3)
TOTAL TIME=11:24 (5:03/3:58/2:22)

Yup, womens’ Pack weight.  That’s all I’m mentally (and perhaps physically) able to catch in a below parallel squat position.  Took the bar from low shin on every rep.  Looking forward to an equally ugly performance with tomorrow’s 100+ ring dips.  Knew I couldn’t skip either of these WODs because they contain some glaring (and unattended) weaknesses!
