Up until today, I have only ever done 3 muscleups. Ever. 1 one day. 2 on another day in-between many failures. But I tried to bring the intensity that I saw at the Nor Cal Qualifier yesterday and had that in mind…I decided to do more than I thought I could and really push myself. I might be wrong, but I think 155# x 5 was my prior PR for Power Cleans. That’s two HUGE PRs in one workout! I was just very focused today and cleans and muscle-ups are just starting to click. Axel Bear did a great job and surprised himself and really pushed hard. He went first and with such a great score on a workout he wasn’t too sure on, I was intimidated, but just focused on the intensity that was at the games and tried to bring that to the table. Good times. Fight on.
Thanks FD, your the bomb when it comes to getting back to people. We need to get a WOD in together soon befor the heat gets here. I went to CF King of Prussia a couple of weeks ago, nice place, Aimee and her members are really nice. You should check it out.
When I started last summer I could barely put together a few strict pullups so I decided to do some today. Tried with continuously running clock doing one the first minute, two the second minute, three the third minute… continuing as long as I was able.
Made it 6 mins .....couldn’t get past 4 pullups before minute 7….....
My math says 20 pullups total…...thx for making this available to us garage gym folk..
Well, it is fair to say that I have fallen of the waggon (partly sore shoulder, sore ankle and sore hammie, but mostly laziness!!). I was excited to post a deadlift PR a while ago, but two days later noticed a softball sized bruise on my left hammie, needless to say I tweaked it!!!
I am now slowly trying to get back into an exercise routine. Last night I decided to do another Google search for Crossfit in South Africa, as training without a partner or fellow CF junkie is tough…finally a hit, CROSSFIT REBEL SOUTH AFRICA!!! I can’t describe my excitement to find that CF has finaly landed in SA! I emailed the guys last night to try and find out more information about when they received their affilation…etc…etc… It looks like they are legit as their details are on the CF Games page. They are holding the African CF games qualifiers in two weeks time. I am hoping that I’ll be able to head up there and take part as a ‘non-competitor’.
Thanks to everyone at BrandX and the good work you guys are doing! I read this forum almost every day, and although I have not been as active as I should, I can honestly say that without this site (the positive feedback, advice and support people receive on this forum) I would most likely have been lost to CF…
Sorry about the long post, my CF juices are now flowing again!
Dude!
Awesome. I hope they work out well for you.
Make sure to keep posting your WODs here and good luck.
Thanks BM! I’ll start posting my WODs from tomorrow. I am fully amped! The box is 600km away, but I’ll take the trip up to meet and greet…hopefully good things come of it.
