It’s fairly widely known that Lauren Glassman, the wife of Coach Greg Glassman and the co-founder of CrossFit is pregnant with twins. The title of the WOD today suggests congratulations are in order?
Please hold questions and comments until Garddawg or BlueBugofJustice post the scaling, which usually includes links to exercise videos, common substitutions and other helpful information.
The mainpage of CrossFit directs new people here for help getting started. CF can be confusing enough for a newbie, we want to make it as easy as possible for them. We ask you to be courteous and thoughtful of the newbies. If they show up here for the first time and have to wade through 5-10 posts before we have a chance to scale for them, it can make it more difficult.
Congratulations that are definitely in order:
On the Affiliate Blog http://www.crossfit.com/cf-affiliates/2009/05/wednesday_090520.html it’s reported that CrossFit Kids just got their 100th affiliate. Congratulations to Jeff (Garddawg) and Mikki (BlueBugOfJustice) and the team at CrossFit Kids HQ for the success of their program. Much hard work and care went into getting them where they are.
Looks like an interesting workout. Can’t wait to try it next week. Today’s WOD:5 rd for time of 30 GHSU, 30 back extensions
Time-12:41
Last WO I did similar to this was 5rds for time of 30 GHSU, 20 BE on 14 Apr 09 with a time of 13:00. Did 50 more BE in less time. Crossfit is working for me.
You can see it took me two years to get to Rx’d on that WOD. And I still did it slow . . .
But . . . . I could do some of the others (mainly running based), as a big dog from day one. Running is simply the thing I’m best at. I’m not good, just better at that than anything else.
There are others that I’m not Rx’d yet . . . as GD will gladly point out . . . many others and much pointing.
Thing is, push on, keep working, and some days you’ll be a bigger dog than others. It’s not grades where you have to finish the one before you move to the other. Take a flyer once in a while and bump up to puppy to see how that feels. Of course, some days you’re the windshield some days you’re the bug. Crossfit benefits go to those who keep plugging.
—I’m starting on the Buttercups. If I am diligent and don’t cheat the workouts, in general how long does is take to progress to the next level(s)?
Thanks!
Well if it’s me and the WOD is J.T., it’s been what, 2 years or so and I’m still trying?
It varies is the real answer. For some workouts you’ll move up very quickly and others, like me and J.T., you’ll struggle every measly profanity laden step.
Post a few more WODs and we’ll be able to give you a better idea, but it will really only relate to a particular WOD.

He’s lying. I’ve seen his run times and he’s very good at it.
