Are the pull-ups supposed to be strict or kipping? Would it be better to do more assisted pull-ups and the higher numbers of the others or do fewer unassisted pull ups and the lower numbers of the others? Can I mix and match, I know I can do the top tier of sit ups and squats and maybe pushups but I can’t do that many pull ups, strict or kipping. Too many years of being a distance runner and lifting the wrong way for the wrong stuff, my upper body just doesn’t have it.
The default is kipping, so unless it says otherwise, use kipping.
As for the other questions, I would start lower and work higher. These are five sprints. The first time you do this, maybe pick the number of pullups you can do, and then bust out the rest using one of the pullup progressions. For instance, if you think you can do 3 pullups a round, do puppies, then do three pull ups then switch to a progression (like ring or bar rows). If you think you can do it go for Barbara “lite”. Or do a pullup sub (say ring rows or something) mixed in with regular pullups for Barbara “Lite”. Because what you’re asking is a kind of advanced strategy for someone who has built up a bit of cfit ability but is still lagging behind on one of the body weight elements.
For instance, I do Barbara “lite”. I get the first set of pullups, then I MIGHT get the second round of 10 but likely not, and then I break the others into 5-5. Then at the end probably 3-3-3-1.
This is a really evil wod, if you go fast.
