Took some days off - badly needed both physically and mentally.  I did do a 5k run on one of the days.

Back at it now, feeling refreshed.  It was a beautiful day, so I did a 1k erg test (required for my team - just wanted to get it out of the way) and a CFE Tabata workout in the 2x (double scull) on the water.  (8x20:10)

For what it’s worth, I used to do a 1k erg test at 3:09.x every year, with an all-time best of 3:07.8 one year.  The last few years I haven’t had to do them, but I’d guess that I was in the 3:12-3:14 range.  Just before I took up CF in March, I did one just so that I would have a “before” picture.  After two months of travelling, sickness and a generally bad attitude that was causing me to just not work out, I was 3:19.x.  This 1k was 3:14.7, which isn’t great but represents a big improvement over my starting point this year and is close to getting me back to the 3:10 I should be getting.  So, not great yet, but improving and hopeful.  The point of CF (for me) is to improve my fitness in ways beyond rowing, but if it can get me back to where I was before with my rowing, then so much the better!
