SUNDAY 090607

Five rounds for time of:
75 pound Thrusters, 21 reps
21 Double-unders

Post time to comments.

Please hold questions and comments until Garddawg or BlueBugofJustice post the scaling, which usually includes links to exercise videos, common substitutions and other helpful information.
The mainpage of CrossFit directs new people here for help getting started.  CF can be confusing enough for a newbie, we want to make it as easy as possible for them.  We ask you to be courteous and thoughtful of the newbies.  If they show up here for the first time and have to wade through 5-10 posts before we have a chance to scale for them, it can make it more difficult.

Newbie here. I’m currently deployed and don’t have access to a jumprope. What can I substitute instead of doing double-unders?

Thanks in advance.

As GD posted above ya sub tuck jumps for dbl unders mate. You can find a demo video under substitutes in the main site faq or on youtube.

Sunday—Deadlift 3 x 3 x 110 kg

Friday—Run 3k—17:45

Over did it a little on Erin early this week and have been barely able to move my arms the past few days—I guess doing 63 pullups (even beginner pullups….) on your first workout back from a one month layoff is not such a good thing:). Therefore, I took a couple days off and have been taking things easy. Will ease back into things a little more mellow, and scale down further this week.

Cool down
A nice cold shower!

Really wasn’t feeling it today, every rep seemed to sap my energy so I ended up taking lots of micro rests. At least this gives me a nice easy time to beat next time around.

Still on the beginner’s ladder. Found a bench, so I can do proper inverted rows. Boy does that make a difference. Hurt my hands, my arms and my time, but still good for me.

AMRAP in 15 min
3 squats
2 pushups
1 pullup (sub inverted row)

23 rounds

first time pulling 260# twice felt good but need to break out of 260# max . I think there is unusually strong gravity in my garage . N.A.S.A needs to do a study!!

Pack:

55 pound Thrusters, 21 reps

First set of thrusters were unbroken but after that, everything went to hell. I got to the point of pukie knocking at the door on the 3rd round, but I fended him off. Everytime I had to stop, I would start couinting 3-2-1-GO and then start back up. Trying to limit my rest more and more on METCONs. Glad there is a break tomorrow. I got a PT Test on Tuesday.

Went with sort of a Porch-ish thing here…

5rds for time:  65# thrusters x 15
              42 single-unders
21 tuckjumps (I dig jumping rope, but double-unders ain’t happening, so this combo was my penance)

TIME 18:58 - first round all unbroken, second/third did 5/5/5 thrusters and 5/5/5/6 tuck jumps, fourth/fifth 7/4/4 thrusters and 10/11 tuckjumps.

This one was FUN!  I had quite a few short rests to catch my breath, so I know I should crush this time on the next go, plus hopefully hit 75# on the thrusters.

Get some.
