The mainpage of CrossFit directs new people here for help getting started. CF can be confusing enough for a newbie, we want to make it as easy as possible for them. We ask you to be courteous and thoughtful of the newbies. If they show up here for the first time and have to wade through 5-10 posts before we have a chance to scale for them, it can make it more difficult.
I have been lurking on the boards for a while. Just wanted to thank you guys for the awesome job you are doing! I’m still a buttercup but working my way through it.

this one did not feel good, could not wait for it to end. I could really tell that I only got 5 hours sleep last night, and REALLY wanted to ignore the alarm at 5:30 this morning, but am glad I did not.
can anyone advise me if crossfit or crossfit football would be better for weight loss? thanks!
My 2cts - the Zone, as a lifestyle, or a Paleo-style diet when combined in the appropriate calorie deficient manner (i.e. you burn more calories than you take in) with any of the CF workouts followed closely will help you both increase your athletic ability and lose weight. In either case, I have personally found that eating 5-6 times/day instead of 2-3 and following a steady workout plan has helped the most (I’ve lost 45 lbs since 2007).
So I was sick for the past few days with a leg infection and essentially did nothing from Thursday through Sunday. On Saturday I did 100 pushups for time, but was unable to keep track of my time, accurately, so I’m left with only my first wod of the week to report:
Cindy: 5,10,15 pullups, pushups, squats
AMRAP in 20: 14 rounds
This isn’t new for me, this seems like I’ve finally returned to where I was before I broke my arm (and wasn’t really able to do crossfit seriously). I did the pushups on my hands (instead of my knuckles) for the first time since the injury. Maybe that could become part of my rehab from now, allowing me to think about handstands and the like in the future. I will say that the pullups felt great, except for having to use dirt on my hands instead of chalk, and the eventual wetness that method created. Are thick bars just easier to use?
Cindy was my 1st ever CF WOD last month and I did 14 rounds back then. So, needless to say, I was geared up to get in 16-17 rounds this time around after almost 2 months of CF’ing in. Well, I did it as RX’ed (like last time) and I did only 11 rounds this time. I don’t really understand what happened. I wonder if I can attribute it to the fact that I am now doing more strict pullups/pushups/squats compared with when I just started CF. I hope that’s what it is. I’d hate to think I’m losing strength…..
