I am new to cross-fit and had a question. I am unable to do the posted daily workout to due my gym not allowing lifts from the floor with a barbell. Is there a substitute for this exercise?

As rx’d 6 full rounds + 4 reps.  I knew I was done when I got to the end of the 6th round and only had like 8 seconds rest.  Geez, this one was tough.  I like it.

I’m a 42 year old male weighing 130 pounds.

What weight should I be using?  The 135# prescribed is more than my actual body weight, should I use the prescribed women’s weight?

You could do hang clean/jerks in the power rack this time, and hopefully you can find a new gym.

I had a little bit of difficulty sticking the landing and at times had to make small adjustments. After I got laddered out, I did 3 sets of 5 to practice the exercise.

Tuesday 090728

WOD Pack:

95# Clean and Jerk ladder, continuously running clock.  Continuing as long as you are able.  Use as many sets each minute as needed.

Post number of minutes completed to comments.

Compare to 090102.

TIME: 5 MINUTES. GOT THROUGH 3 OR 4 REPS OF THE 6TH MINUTE. AFTER CLEAN AND JERK PRACTICE 3 SETS OF 5 REPS.

Clean and Jerk ladder
Porch 115#

4 full rounds and a few for good measure

I should have gone with the pack scaling to get a little more work.  Still a good smoker

Scale down to a weight that you thank you will be able to go 8 rounds with. If learning the lift even 45 lb. bar can pull a glute something fierce (ask me how I know). No shame in soing this one with a piece of PVC pipe.

Scale accordingly.

Practiced with forty-five, it felt too easy went up to 65# and it felt better.
8 min
First two were at 65# last six were 75#.
Total 36, couldn’t do any more. Some of these WOD’s are very deceiving. I thought i could have done at least ten, I was dying at the end of round 7. I really had to force myself to finish.

Got 7 rounds. Pretty dissapointed.
I wanted 8 rounds and think I can probably make it happen. I think I’ll throw it in as a second wod in two cycles or so.
