That is the hope. A little tricky though, as she get muley stubborn if you push too hard. Hopefully I can get her involved with some of the affiliate folks and that’ll help….

Wow.  I salute you sir! Volunteering for the toughest duty!!

If it’s any consolation, it’s taken me nearly 3 years to get my non irish-italian not really stubborn wifey interested.  Funny thing was one of the things that got her most interested and I wasn’t even trying at this point was a video of some little kids doing oly lifts.  For some reason she had the world divided into “Us normal 24 hour fitness people” and “Freaks, weirdos, loons, AND crossfitters”.  But that video brought home how anyone could do this stuff.  So now I got her doing presses since she thinks she needs “upper body” strength.  And ring rows and tomorrow, DEADLIFTS MUAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAA!!  Heavy SQUATS! Muahahahaa!!

Missed WOD on 090801.  Practiced my Back Squat this am 090803 on our Rest Day.  Still no Squat rack in gym at work so weight I can work with is restricted.  I’m going to buy one and bring it in.  Still getting the weight up with Power clean or wedging myself between bar and bench press bench.  Basically just did 3 sets of higher reps at weights I can get up cleaning or doing the ridiculous wedge.  135#, 145#, and 155#.

Wednesday 090610

Day 58. I need a Squat Rack. Wedging myself in between the Bench Press bench and bar just doesn’t allow me to get any weight on the bar and is really starting to hurt my back and get scary. That being said I Squatted more than I have in the past but had to back off in the middle at 175#, because the wedging was just starting to hurt too much and become too difficult. I am going to buy a rack and bring it into the gym. What I am doing is insane.

I don’t have a squat rack available at my house.

I was contemplating using weighted single leg pistols or overhead squats as a substitute, is that acceptable?

What exercise should I use…

Lacking squat racks I front squat.

That’s the answer though!  I am a stubborn Irish girl, but that’s my strength when it comes to CrossFit.  I used to wonder about investing money into our garage gym until I started Crossfit. haha But since I have started, I haven’t ever been as excited as when our C2 came or the when the rings came (No, I’m not strong enough to do anything cool on them, but I do like to play with them haha).  We are about to buy another barbell and some plyoboxes and I can’t wait!  Point of the story is… just get her drinking the juice!

That is the hope. A little tricky though, as she get muley stubborn if you push too hard. Hopefully I can get her involved with some of the affiliate folks and that’ll help….

I was stubborn to start it too, so you have to do what Mr Underrated did and make her think it was her idea and then make her believe she is a CrossFit Goddess.  She will find out on her own after her first posting that she isn’t but by then it will be too late and she will be hooked.  Then she will be determined to become one, which is where I am currently at in that whole little scheming process!

On second thought, if that doesn’t work just show her the abs of the crossfit chics. haha
