The mainpage of CrossFit directs new people here for help getting started.  CF can be confusing enough for a newbie, we want to make it as easy as possible for them.  We ask you to be courteous and thoughtful of the newbies.  If they show up here for the first time and have to wade through 5-10 posts before we have a chance to scale for them, it can make it more difficult.

Good thing I got a new pair of running shoes today. Looks like I get to break them in right.

Nice job bro , as for the mp3 player , kipping should be like a carnival ride , it should have a warning that says ” all loose items must be secured before going on this ride”

Saturday

BWU

Back squat 1-1-1-1-1-1-1

70kg, 80, 85, 85, 85, 90, 90

from 85kg on, form was’t great.

Sunday

CFWU

Nicole
AMRAP in 20 min of
Run 400m
Max rep pull ups

6 rounds + 90 meters
7 pull ups, 6, 6, 5, 6, 7

My ipod sensor would not work, so I had to estimate the runs and I was conservative, so I probably ran more than 400m each time.

Monday 090810
Ran 2 - 400 meter laps
1:49
2:25
First lap felt ok. The second lap started out fine till my neighbor pulled out of her driveway, I had to stop and let her drive by. I never recovered. Should have scaled to buttercups, running is my goat. I seem to get this pain in my achilles that really hurts. It takes a while to recover from. It only happens when I run on the street. I’m hoping with time I will be able to run long distances.

Today’s WOD - 800 meter run x 4

My times:

5:57

6:29

8:13

8:08

I have had on ongoing issue with my hip when I run.  It flares up around 3/4 of a mile, no difference today.  Have new runners, which hasn’t helped.  Not sure the issue, so I try not to tax it too much.  I walked the last two rounds.  Better than stopping, I guess

I do find it a little amusing, though, that my walking rounds weren’t terribly slower than the “running” ones….

Tabata Something Else - As RXd (but NOT!) : 178 reps

Boy, I screwed this up badly.  I did 30 rounds alternating pull ups, push-ups, and squats each round.  However, this is not the 4 consecutive rounds of 8 motions requested.  It still felt like a solid work out, but I’m apparently not the big dawg I thought I was when walking out of the park.  Bummer!!!

800M

round 1 - 3:08
round 2 - 3:14
round 3 - 3:32
round 4 - 3:36

very impressed with continued improvement as my previous times were:

4 rounds of 800 M sprint:

-3:21
-3:28
-3:31
-3:40

and before that my times were 3:30, 3:31, 3:35, 3:40

improvement each time is making this difficult work out worth it.

800M

round 1 - 3:30
round 2 - 3:16
round 3 - 3:22
round 4 - 3:17

WU - one slow lap
CD - two slow laps

didn’t warm up at speed any so first rep was slower than I wanted. Better warmup and a little more intensity should get me 4 sub 3:15’s next time. Took 5 minutes rest between runs.
