Coming back after a rest week and making sure my low back was good to go from last week’s deadlifts done with crappy form and rushed sets.

Death by Pull-up
With a continuously running clock do one pull-up the first minute, two pull-ups the second minute, three pull-ups the third minute… continuing as long as you are able.
Use as many sets each minute as needed.

CFWU 2/3 minus pull-ups

13 minutes + 9 pull-ups

Front Squats 1-1-1-1-1-1-1

155-175-195-205-215PR-225PR-245PR

Very happy with today’s lift, the last three were all PR’s.  It has become a lot easier to hold the bar and my wrists do not really bother me anymore.

Today was my first time trying front squats and wow my writs felt like they were going to rip off. It was really hard to keep my elbows up. Is this just a flexability problem? Any ideas on how to get past this? I tried it with a 45# bar as a warm up then tried 95# for my first try and I couldn’t stand it.

Also, I spent the last few days watching all the front squat videos and have been working on my air squats so I feel like I understand the basics, but doing it was something else.

Hey man, this comes up almost every time we’ve got front squats on tap.  Read through the whole thread and I think we go over all the things you may need to know.

TP

(and yes, it’s a flexibility issue, both wrist and back as well as a hand position issue).

Warm-up: Skipping while running 5 minutes mixing in some BW squats

4 Kilometer Run - Aiming for under 5 min/kilometer pace (easy pace)
Time: 17:10

Front Squats
Reps: 2-1-1-1-1-1-1
Poundages: 135-155-175-185-195-200-210

C2 Rower
Rowed 1524m in 5:47
Rowed 400m in 1:20

Stretched

Notes:  I have read that if you are a well balanced athlete, your 1RM front squat should be very close to your 1RM Bench press.  It seems about right to me.
