The mainpage of CrossFit directs new people here for help getting started. CF can be confusing enough for a newbie, we want to make it as easy as possible for them. We ask you to be courteous and thoughtful of the newbies. If they show up here for the first time and have to wade through 5-10 posts before we have a chance to scale for them, it can make it more difficult.
Where to start. I guess with the Big Dawgs you do this as Rx’d. I am interpreting the handstand walk as unassisted and the rest as per usual CF prescription. There now for the rest of you.

So, I have done my due diligence and searched this site, the crossfit site, crossfit kids and youtube and google but I still don’t have a good idea on what a pike hold is although I am pretty sure it has nothing to do with fish. Can someone please help?
ok the question i have is what would be an alterative for some one with a physical inability to do this? by physical inability i mean i have some really tor-up shoulders and the pain is unbearable. i believe in time and much hard work the pain will subside( my doctor says its just scar tissue streaching) but for now i dont have the pain endurance to do it.

in this context I would assume it to mean you do a handstand in the “piked” position (ie your body forms an ell shape- bendig only at the waist). You could set your feet on the ground, and pike with straight arms or you could set your feet at an level (on a box or smith machine bar) holding the same position.
