We’re having another crack at it this year and we booked our flights a few hours ago.

The itinerary is roughly
Fly into LA on Friday, July 9th.
Travel to Ramona and enjoy being back at Brand X until we:
Head to the CF Games. Not sure of the exact date, basically when everyone else does (we may try and hitch a ride with anyone driving who has room), so 15th or 16th?
Back to Ramona for another week or so. We have tickets to ComicCon on Thursday, July 22 and Sunday, July 25 so we have some options and the Weta crew will be at a Comiccon party on Thursday evening with members of another forum I post at a little, so we may go to that.
Leave for San Francisco on Monday, July 26th and have a little look around, probably heading to Sacramento to see BCCF (haven’t told her yet, unless she reads this grin ).
Maybe back to LA to look at a few things we didn’t do due diligence by last time before we fly out on Wednesday, August 4th.

There’s flexibility in most of that aside from the flights to and from the US.
Sandwiching the games between time in Ramona gives us the best chance to meet Satelliters who may combine a trip to BX with going to the games, even if it does mean a bit of to-ing and fro-ing.

Now we (my wife Lynette who posts here as Bluez) aren’t silly enough to expect people to travel to Ramona just because we’ll be there, but as many of us Satelliters intend to make the pilgrimage at some point (and it is sooooo worth it) it would be fantastic if people had those dates in mind as being a good time to make the trip so we can meet as many of you as possible.
To make it a bit more attractive, as well as the obvious advantage of actually being at Brand X, the trip could be combined with the CF Games (July 16th to 18th) and/or possibly attending a CF Kids cert, for which I’ll let the cat out of the bag by announcing that one is being planned for the weekend of July 24th and 25th. The Cert isn’t a definite yet, so bear it in mind, but don’t regard it as a certainty until BBoJ or GD announce it, or you see it on the mainsite.

Besides us Firmdancer will be visiting before the games and TP has said he’ll make it at some stage, don’t know yet whether that’s before or after. I don’t think TP does either this far out.
Radiosound said he’d head down too,if he’s not doing the grand tour of Europe at the time.

Last trip TP nearly had a conniption trying to goad the BX crew into making me eat large quantities of Fish Tacos (not a problem there, fish tacos are good!) and then do a WOD in the hope that I would continue the glorious tradition of visitors fertilising the bush outside the door with their lunch. The good thing this time is that if he attempts something like that again, he’ll have to do it too, so I’m hoping that will shut him up.
But then again this is TP and he’s never been known to show even a modicum of self-preservation in his taunting of GD previously, so that’s probably a forlorn hope.

So while we’re really looking forward to meeting our friends from Ramona (and Poway) again and topping up on BrandXism, we’re really hoping we’ll meet some of the rest of you too.
And SoCal Mexican food, yay!
And if Marla Singer invites you for Carne Asada you’re not allowed for come, it’s all for me!

We have too many heroes lost and not enough workout days to commemorate them. I think it’s fitting to always think of the men and women in service, whether military or peace officers and public safety, as we do our workouts. A bit of motivation to throw a little of our sweat and maybe a drop of blood on the floor in their honor.

Yaay! So exciting!

If you’re going to ComicCon, maybe bring a GPS? Isn’t that where you two ended up wandering around looking for your car?
