The mainpage of CrossFit directs new people here for help getting started.  CF can be confusing enough for a newbie, we want to make it as easy as possible for them.  We ask you to be courteous and thoughtful of the newbies.  If they show up here for the first time and have to wade through 5-10 posts before we have a chance to scale for them, it can make it more difficult.

Take the words “genetic freak” out of your vocabulary and substitute the words “hard working, committed, and focused” and you will have removed one obstacle to doing things you never thought possible.

There is no substitute for good coaching.

I have never seen a plateau or stall in progress that cannot be attributed to improper rest and recovery or undisciplined nutritional intake.

Last time I did Kelly she smashed me all over the bedroom in 38 minutes.  I think (hope) the story is very different when I meet her again tomorrow after work.  If I don’t break 30 minutes I will be severing all ties with her…she is far too selfish…and high maintenance. laughloud

Thrusters/Muscle-ups/Runs (Griffized)

Puppies:
4 rds for time of:
5 x 17 kg db thruster
5 x kneeling m/u (tucker progression)
Run 200 m
Run 50 m backwards

10:01

Sweet workout, probably top three favorite. Didn’t have time to workout yesterday and was a little tight on time today, so decided to work Griff into this one, which turned out pretty well, was a nice challenge. Disappointed I didn’t break 10, though, next time.

My foot is still giving my a fair bit of grief and I’m still needing to elevate it thru the day to get some relief but I’m off the pain killers now so that’s progress I feel.

The rest of me wants to do something though grrrr

Anybody got any upper body only wod’s in mind that I could try that doesn’t involve much standing, moving around or balance work??

What ever I think of involves adding plates and that mean moving around cry

If I use my bench I could maybe set up and stick with the same weights for a bench press and lat pull down with maybe a seated over head press with db’s triplet or something??? Thought please anyone? Just need some inspiration I think???

Wednesday 3-FEB-10

WU:
3xCFWU (sub’d pushups for dips - shoulder too sore)

WOD: Scaled for Puppies

“Kelly”
Three rounds for time of:
Run 400 meters
15 Box jump, 20 inch box (only have a 20” platform)
15 Wall ball shots, 14-20 pound ball (sub’d 45# barbell thrusters as I don’t have dumbells or a 20# wall ball)

Time: 14.57

CD:
Lots of ROM work

My shoulder has really bothered me since the HSPU/Pullup/Pushup WOD last week as well as the Clean/Snatch Balance/OHS workout this past weekend - As a result I have “paused” my Burpee Challenge, To Be Continued…and probably most shoulder work for the next couple of days or so…

Hello ladies.  Look at your man, now back to me, now back at your man, now back to me.  Sadly, he isn’t me.

Slow is smooth.  Smooth is fast.

How would I describe myself?  Three words.  Hardworking.  Alpha male.  Jackhammer.  Merciless.  Insatiable.

CrossFit is to your body as Metallica is to your face.

I tried to do Griff on the treadmill and it was a mess! So I ended up doing…

800m forward
200m backward (more of an awkward walk)
800m forward

Looking forward to “Kelly” tomorrow!
