As recommended by my PT, this thing is great for stretching calves.  I try to use it 2x per day, and between this and foam rolling, my knee pain has decreased substantially.  Highly recommended.

I’m sure those of you that are handy or have kid in wood shop could make this yourself, but I spent $90 at Amazon-link here.

What about Mrs. RS? Is she mad at you?

What about Mrs. RS? Is she mad at you?

All her free construction time has been devoted to a project she should get a television show for.  Plus, not hearing me bitching about my knee pain is a bonus.

Is she finally building boxes for TP and me?????

ETA, I am glad your knees are being helped.

ETA2, Mrs. Shark doesn’t allow me to whine about any self-inflicted pain. She is pretty tough that way. I believe the words “Suck it up, Buttercup” have been uttered in the house.

So that’s basically a wooden board that you can put up at an angle and then you stand on it, toes on high end, heels on low end? Does it have a fixed angle or is it adjustable?

Adjustable.  Heels low, toes pointed up.

Thanks RS. Awesome idea. I’ve been jamming my foot against the wall, and its sometimes causes cramps in my arch if I really get aggressive with the PNF.

I’m going to try and build one this weekend.

The platform originally posted is nice, and I’ve used something simliar years ago with good results.

Another option to consider is a stretching strap.

For me it’s a nice option.  It’s in my workout bag, I can travel with it, use it to stretch multiple areas, PNF stretches are easy to do, multiple loops to hold onto or place feet in, ect.

Us dancers have used these for years. If you don’t want to make one yourself, you likely can find one at a local dance supply shop or online. I’ll try to find a link.

More proof that many knee problems are really located somewhere else . .
