First post here…. I’ve searched the forum on this issue, but haven’t unearthed anything. Does anyone else have
this problem when doing glute-ham sit ups or sit ups with the abmat? My stomach gurgles and feels like it’s rolling
around. It is bad enough that it prevents me from pushing the hip flexors and abs to fatigue. I’ve tried it at all times
of the day, waiting at least an hour after drinking…two hours…. still does it. I’m have a long torso, so maybe there’s
too much room for my innards to slouch around!
Any thoughts, solutions?
thanks in advance!
I DO fall in the category for rhabdo - above average shape by all standards except Crossfit.
So I am careful. I think, hope! With the glute ham situps I’m only doing 12-15 reps for 3 rounds.
I can’t see that as over exerting at all? The gurgling starts almost immediately.
And I need to clarify - due to my equipment, my ‘glute-ham’
situp is more like a reclining situp. I decline my weight bench that is a combo leg extension attachment.
I extend the leg extension and I can lock my feet under it so my legs are straight.
But the issue also happens on bent leg situps as well. but not crunches!
It’s aggravating because I can feel the core strength gains. I like the feeling of
improved posture!
I don’t have any suggestions, just saying at that this is the funniest “health issue” we’ve had for a while.
Back to the scheduled programming.

Congratulations… you have added a lot to the conversation.
You are on a roll sir!
Oops, didn’t mean this one to sound like a criticism, should have used some smilies, it’s one of those posts that makes you scratch your head and think “How the heck do I help them on this one”. And it’s funny.
Alright, I’ll Google stomach gurgling and see what I come up with.
I understood the humor, no criticism present. I was just pointing out that you obviously added something to the conversation
My 2 cents on the problem is that if it doesnt hurt, keep pushing past the uncomfortable feeling and it might go away. Maybe its like handstands and people getting red in the face. Your body may just have to get used to doing this and the problem will go away.

Dissension and laughter.
GD would be proud.
I’ve come across a variety of proposed causes and cures for the gurgling.
Some, eating to keep things quiet, would only fuel Pukie if carried out just before training.
One thing that might be worth trying is a suggestion to have a little olive oil (or one person who couldn’t handle the concept of drinking oil used peanut butter) with meals. Suggested amounts vary, from a teaspoon to a tablespoon.
Hey, I understand the oddity of this being humorous - that’s part of the reason for the title - makes you curious!
You can actually hear whats going on as well, so if it wasn’t making me so nauseous, I’d laugh at it and continue.
What’s the reasoning behind the olive oil?
Re; handstands and blood rush - I experienced that as well at the beginning, but my body adjusted to that pretty
quickly. No problems there!

Any chance of a picture or video of what this looks like? Might help figure out what’s going on.
